Hospitality

We welcome guests to carefully restored and individually decorated and furnished rooms in which no detail has been left to chance. Each room is individual in terms of its size, colour scheme and its inspired mix of antique and modern furnishings. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, underfloor heating, air-conditioning, wardrobe, flat-screen TV and mini-bar (upon request). In the communal areas, guests have all-day access to a comfortable and spacious lounge with a central fireplace and a reading area with chaise-longue and soft lighting. The buffet breakfast, consisting of homemade cakes and biscuits and local specialities, is served here while tea and coffee-making facilities are always available for our guests. Complimentary bicycles, a barbecue, sun-loungers and a bench are available for the use of our guests in the garden and in the nearby outdoor relaxation area, a short distance from the B & B. You will be welcomed by Giulia, the young owner of the B & B, who set about restoring the old village school, which her family had inherited in a very poor state of repair, and transforming it into a welcoming place for guests to stay. She and her mother both share a love of antiques and beautiful objects and they followed the restoration work at each and every step over a two-year period with particular attention to detail, searching out antique furnishings and light fittings, and carefully selecting individual colour schemes for each room. In the 19th century, the B & B was a village school which catered for children from the ages of six to eight from nearby Nonantola and neighbouring villages; those who wished to continue their education had to move to a boarding school in a large town or city. During the restoration work, some of the older residents of Campazzo recalled that every classroom was heated by an open fire or a wood-burning stove and that the older pupils would go into the field to collect wood. All the original fireplaces and stoves were maintained during the restoration work.
